"I have met people at the conference who are very passionate about what we do"

Join us in London on 16-17 October 2011
This year's NAEGA Conference Improving Future Practice: The National Adult Guidance Conference will be held in central London and offers a programme packed with the latest insights into future plans, a highly focussed range of relevant and practical sessions, advice and support, as well as opportunities for your voice to be heard.
Improving Future Practice is an opportunity for all working in adult guidance – practitioners, managers and strategists – to:
- Learn about plans for the future of the guidance profession
- Have your say on these far reaching changes and their impact on all practitioners and managers
- Access a programme of highly relevant, subject specific workshops which offer new insights, evidence based techniques and strategies that work
- Develop your professional and personal skills with up to the minute CPD
- Meet and share experiences with like-minded experts from across the UK
Time and resources are currently under severe pressure. Training events must offer the highest quality content, the best value for money and prove to deliver very effective results from very little time away from the office. Improving Future Practice has been designed to meet all three of these necessary criteria in today's world.
This year in recognition of the pressures on time we have condensed the main conference into just one day away from the office, at Congress House on Monday 17th October.
However we do not underrate benefits of networking and sharing experiences with like-minded professional from across the UK. So on Sunday 16th you are invited to join us at the St Giles Hotel for an afternoon of activities, debate, discussion and interaction.
This will be a great opportunity to meet up with colleagues, make new friends and get the ball rolling with a topical discussion before – and no doubt over – dinner (and escape the Monday morning rush hour!).
Value for money
Registration choices for members and non NAEGA members have been designed to offer flexibility, (all non-member rates include membership of NAEGA until 2012). See Book now for Day only/Conference options and accomodation packages available.

CPD
A major benefit of the conference is the opportunity for continuing professional development (CPD). NAEGA has long advocated the value of CPD to ensure high performing and effective guidance practitioners. CPD is vital for the professional and ensures that the public and the sector can have confidence that practitioners are continuously improving their skills, knowledge and expertise. The conference will provide delegates with a certificate of attendance.
Attending Improving Future Practice is an excellent opportunity to enhance service delivery skills, fine tune professional procedures and prepare for the future. It's an opportunity not to be missed.
NAEGA's principles for ethical practice
NAEGA’s vision
NAEGA seeks to promote universally available, high quality, information, advice and guidance services for adults delivered by competent and reflective practitioners.
Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
NAEGA expects all Members to ensure that their skills and knowledge for delivering the service are relevant, accurate and up-to-date.
Practitioners should demonstrate their commitment to maintaining skills and knowledge to deliver accurate and effective services by reflecting on practice and engaging in CPD activities to maintain and extend their professional skills and knowledge.
Organisations should enable and support practitioners in adhering to the NAEGA Principles of Ethical Practice within the context of their own organisation. Organisations should ensure that staff delivering provision are competent and have access to CPD activities and qualifications as appropriate to develop and maintain competence.
All members of NAEGA will promote NAEGA’s vision and operate within the five principles for ethical practice which are:
- Client-Centred Members will ensure that their practice places the user’s interests first.
- Equality and Diversity Members will ensure that their practice promotes equality and diversity.
- Impartiality Members will ensure that the delivery of information, advice and guidance services is free from bias.
- Confidentiality Members will ensure that the service user’s confidentiality is respected.
- Ethical Practice Members will ensure that their practice has an ethical base.
